Camwhoring

I don’t understand.

I really don’t.

What is the kick???

People are posting an incredulous amount of pictures of themselves on websites, facebook profiles, blogs and many other online nonsense. And if you notice, it’s always almost the same kind of shots. Somehow, they manage to find their best angle and then start taking every single photo in that manner. It comes a point whereby the background, the setting or the friends that you are with do not matter anymore.

I do that too. But only once every few years when I run out of passport-sized photos and I’m forced to stand behind some random white background and give the most plastic smile ever for that one shot.

Other than that, I get very very bored of looking at the pictures people post. What’s so interesting? Even if it’s some supposedly erotic (and even artistic) pictures, I find myself yawning after looking at the same pair of breasts, the same vagina or even the same dick after the second photo.

It doesn’t matter if you take 100 pictures of it. Small is small. It won’t make it any bigger. If it does, it’s only illusion, picture-more-than-perfect, and probably… an act of deception.

And oh oh oh, don’t they get spasm, cramps or something for always being in that pose?

Sigh. I think I’m an alien. Or I just can’t seem to keep up with such trends. And it bewilders me to notice how viewers can keep on complimenting on those pictures whenever new ones are posted.

“Oh… so pretty…”

“Oh… so sexy….”

“Oh… you look good…”

Damn. I only have one comment that I always hide it in my heart.

“Oh… so boring. AGAIN.”

Probably this explains why I’m probably the only kuku that doesn’t own a digital camera in this technologically-driven era.

Probably this explains why God didn’t make me a model who takes pictures for a living.

Probably this explains why I’ll probably grow old and die without remembering how I’ll look at different phases of my life from the right side, left side, back, centre and maybe even upside down.

Eh, anyone having the same sentiments?

Or is it just… ME?

  1. I think maybe its just you. LOL..

I do think taking pictures are a great way of capturing precious moments, and definitely to remember how we all looked in diff stages of life.

But these social networking sites etc have definitely made a narcissist out of all of us. I get damn turned off when someone posts like 500 hundred pictures on their profile, and it’s all THEIR FACES. Could you be any more vain?

Someone actually did a study on this:

    You’re not alone.
I don’t get why people upload similar photos one after another on their networking profiles. ><
